I established Career Guide as a result of a need I recognised for professional career exploration for all ages. In recognising this need I developed a pluralistic approach to career exploration that utilises the best techniques and resources available.
I believe as an experienced Career Guidance professional it is essential to provide a service that empowers the client to be central to their own career development. I apply a layered approach that helps the client to explore and critique their choices supported by a professional.
The main theories that are utilised are Holland's theory of six personality types: Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising, and Conventional; Carl Jung and Myers BriggsTypologies; finally Vocational Card Sort (VCS) developed by Tyler (1961) refined by Dolliver (1967) supported by a narrative technique.
I have spent the last number of years developing and perfecting these techniques. I continue to adapt and refine to provide the best service for my clients.
